Brand Botes created an image for under the bunk bed. It will be visible when the bunk bed is folded up and invisible when the bunk bed is in use. Unless you are in the main bed below the bunk bed – then you’ll see it again. I love the way both characters are sound asleep – or possibly dead. The Goldilocks story has various conclusions and I love the open-endedness of this one.
Nicola Meiring has done us proud with the shower curtain she designed for our, er, shower. It’s still being made to fit the awkward size, but here is a visual of the actual artwork.
Rikus Ferreira did a piece called “Too Hot” inside the top drawer of the kitchen unit. Voted “best piece” by members of the audience under 15, its painted on old books, cut out and mounted in 3D. A layer of perspex will protect it. What kind of a things is that to put into a bears new home?
So Joe has been helping Mark with the so called “hard work”. The interior spaces of all the cupboards have been painted red – check it out.
The thing with a floor is its all in the base. A good base makes the floor sing. A bad base makes it cry. Masonite is the thing and Bentleytex is the shit. A good applicator does not go amiss either.
Of course, you have to remove the gigantic towing structure first, but after that it’s all good. Mark sent photos of his morning and David’s afternoon. Thanks David.
Mark sent me some pics of his progress in the caravan – seems he’s taken my advice that Mrs. Bear loves blue to heart. He also seems to really love sanding. The love of tools is a beautiful thing.
Ruana has also been busy making an outfit for someone called Goldilocks. Sounds like a naughty girl to me, but the outfit looks cute. The images she sent also show the inspiration and the progress of the outfit. I wonder who she is?
How to be a bear? That’s the question.
Now, for me it’s easy, being a bear and all. But for the humans around me it’s not. So Ruana Strydom, a friend of mine, has gone to great lengths to give people the opportunity of actually being a bear. She has created a suit that does the job. She has been sending me photo’s of her progress and I attach them below.
Mark sent me some images of the various floor options we have. The bamboo we wanted was just too expensive, so we’re going to put down a layer of screed, cover that in glue and enter the world of laminated flooring. Exciting stuff.
